Gordon-Andrew Lee Fletcher, Esq. has served two terms as Commissioner for Single Member District (SMD) 5A08, in the North Michigan Park/Fort Totten area of the District of Columbia. He is also the Vice Chair of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5A.

Unity, Collaboration, Accountability

In addition to his duties as Commissioner, Gordon-Andrew aims to create Unity in his community through multiple endeavors. He serves as Chair of the Black Alumni Alliance at American University, Chair of the Democratic Party in Ward Five, Chair of the Voter Registration & Education Committee for the DC Democratic Party and in various volunteer positions throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Mr. Fletcher is also very active within his fraternity, serving as Chapter Advisor of the American University Chapter of the Kappa Chi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Co-Chair of the Political Action Committee for the Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Gordon-Andrew moved to the District of Columbia in 2002. Completing his undergraduate studies at American University in 2006, he graduated from American University again in December 2017 with an MS in Public Administration & Policy. During his time as a masters student, he had the honor to serve as the 2016/2017 Graduate Student Body President, ensuring a pronounced graduate school experience for over 3,600 students through hard work and Collaboration.

Currently, he serves as Marketing Director for Merlin Legal’s LSAT & SAT Prep Courses, and teaches Repeat Bar Takers how to successfully pass the Bar Exam. He is an attorney employed with the Department of Commerce, and graduated from the historic Florida A & M University College of Law in 2010. Continuing to share his passion for serving and teaching, Mr. Fletcher is a Professor of Justice & Public Policy in the School of Public Affairs at American University.

Gordon married the beautiful Brittany Fletcher on September 29, 2019. She is a Mental Health Therapist with a Masters’ degree in Clinical Psychology.
